My Books

While it’s almost unthinkably shameful of me to promote my children’s fly fishing books here, I am not above doing so.

No matter whether you’re a veteran angler, a rookie, or you’ve yet to wet a line, you’ll definitely want to get a set of my books for yourself or any kids in your life. One of the things that led me to create the stories of Olive the Little Woolly Bugger was the discovery that the market lacked many good books for kids about fly fishing. I hope to have changed that with my series (there are three for now, with plans for at least two more). The stories are fun and informational, and contain important lessons in life that go beyond the riverbank or lakeshore.

The books are available at many places online and at your local bookstore or fly shop. If they don’t have it, they can order it. If they say they can’t, politely ask them to look in the catalog of their wholesale distributor–I guarantee the books are listed therein.  I hope you’ll take a moment to visit my website–I’m confident you’ll get hooked on Olive!

It’s about time you mentioned them here, nothing shameful about it! I think they are wonderful books and proudly keep the whole set on my bookshelf to look through when I’m in need of a smile.

It’s also my mission to get them in all the Fly Shops in Boise Idaho (and I’m still working on Cabelas) so that others can enjoy them as much as my daughter and I have.

By the way, whens the next book coming out??

Rebecca- this page is nothing new- I’ve had it here from the get-go. I think perhaps you’ve just not spent time looking around. And I thought men were the ones who don’t notice the little things 😉
But thanks for your enthusiastic support and kind words re: the books!

Just got the books delivered from Amazon.ca. My boys (2 & 4) were really excited to see them, and I just wanted to give you a quick shout out to say that we all loved the books.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Russ, thank you for posting and for purchasing the books for your boys. I’m glad they enjoyed them!
Your support is very much appreciated.

Hi, I just read your article in the new fly, rod and reel and I was intrigued by your writings and well that little stream St. Joes in northern Idaho, which I do say I might have to visit being from Idaho and all. I just looked at your website and saw your childrens books and am wondering where I could buy them. I have a nephew that I think would really like them and well a 32 year old brother that would get a kick out of them as well. If you could let meknow where to buy them and how much they are that would be awesome. Thanks for the enjoyable read and I look forward to reading some more of you work. Dustin

Thanks for the good word, Dustin. The link above should take you right to my Olive page which links direct to my publisher for purchasing. They’re also widely available online and most fly shops should carry them (if they don’t they should, and can order through their distributor),

I’m definitely getting these books for my little munchkins! They look great!

I’m a little bias, but I think your munchkins will love Olive. There’s no money-back guarantee, but if they are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please derive some vindication in knowing that I will be crushed.

    Hi!
I was wondering if the Olive books are still being printed and if I can get them somewhere other than Amazon. I would love to own this collection, but the prices on Amazon are astronomical.

I’m working on a remedy to this unfortunate situation.
