Mark- thanks for the good word! The split shot dragging along the bottom worked really well to keep the flies right near the bottom in the strike zone. It made "casting" a little interesting, which really involved a combination of roll casting and sling shotting ;)

Hey Kirk,

What a wonderful report! I enjoy reading it as always!
The weather seems doesn't bother you guys too much, I am impressed with the double drifts! Great strategy!

Rebecca, the gear review was intentionally short and sweet- like me, except just the short part ;) It was a great day for sure, and as you noted our fishing may have peaked early. However, the good times did not end on the Beaverhead. I have an interesting restaurant review forthcoming and some good times on the Firehole for next week.

I think thats the shortest gear review I've ever read. I liked it!
Sounds like an impressive day! I'll have to see how the rest of your fishing went since that seems to have set the bar pretty high. Personally I prefer the fishing to work up to a certain point, not start out amazing and peter out to ho-hum. Hopefully that wasn't the case on your trip. 5 bucks for a tip? The friendly banter musta been really good, wish I was there to hear it all (sounds like a day full of laughing and smiles)
