I’m not the least bit comfortable with you bowing before me. I am not worthy, that’s for sure. The way I see it, every dog has it’s day, and that day was mine. I expect years of fishless steelhead outings in the future, and the Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife is doing their best to see to it that that’s exactly what happens, damn it. But I do appreciate you chiming in and reducing my feelings of insecurity over having been ignored

YOU CAUGHT A FISH! A damn nice one at that. Not some stinkin whitefish or whimpy trout, you caught a wild steelhead.

Great story and now, I humbly bow to your accomplishment. (and no longer feel sorry for you about the skunking I just read about it. Sorry, I’m just not feeling it anymore, the pity that is. It’s now replaced with jealousy)

Sounds like your boss had a bit of beginner’s luck? Probably best that way, bein’ your boss and all.
Way to suck up to him Yeah, I’m still not sold on the whole Banana Conspiracy Theory, but it makes for good contemplation.
For sure- next year, we fish.

So much for the banana & fishing theory. I took my Danish boss out for fall chinook on a guided trip last year. I had a cooler full of culinary delights and some fine micro-brews(knowing full and well most Danes love good beer) ..He was not a fisherman so I had a back up plan for at the very least a pleasant day on the Columbia regardless. Well as soon as he got on the boat he pulled out a bunch of bananas not realizing the superstition…Low & Behold he caught the biggest fish of the day….A rather large sturgeon.. So much for a day hunting for salmon…Congrats on that beautiful metalhead… Perhaps next year we will tangle our spey lines together and maybe we should toss a peel upriver and let it flow past for good luck…
